Diabetic With Ab Abscess

There are actually two videos – the first one was where the doctor introduced the abscess (tease tease tease) and now we have the actual drainage. Not a ton of pus – but a good reminder to everyone with diabetes – test test test, keep your sugars level, and stay healthy! Remember, people love you – don’t miss out on all the fun, please? 🙂

“Elderly diabetic lady with uncontrolled blood sugar presented with abdominal wall abscess.
the abscess is drained under local anesthesia.
After giving local anesthesia lignocaine stab incision given over the swelling.
pus sent for culture and sensitivity study.
whole cavity explored and all pus drained out.
the necrotic skin over the centre of swelling removed with blade and the mouth made wide open.
cavity cleaned with guage pieces.
dressing of wound done.
now patient needs immediate correction of blood sugar with insulin therapy as per sliding scale.
once blood sugar comes to normal level it has to be maintained with oral antidiabetic drugs.
she needs proper antibiotics as per culture sensitivity report and daily aseptic dressing.”
