Whoa, Hematoma!

DESCRIPTION: I couldn’t believe how much popped out of this guys’s leg! Lots and lots of blood clots here! There’s some swearing on here but otherwise the audio is a bit informative and slightly humorous.

    • I can’t say that I wouldn’t be if I was in the same situation. Have you ever had a hematoma? Those things HURT! I’ve had one that I probably should have had taken care of (I got in a jet ski accident and banged the **ZIT** out of my shin…had one that was like all the way across my shin and about 2 inches from top to bottom), and it took forever to go away- like at least 6 months, and it was tender like the whole time. That much junk filling up your leg, pushing on the muscle, then having someone slice you open and push on a very tender area… I’d probably want some pain killers, too!

    • For something like that I’d get the script in advance. Pop a couple as he starts. I have a diabetic ulcer on my foot. Have to go in for the doc to debride it each week. I take 2 Norco before he starts.

      • It’s interesting how we estimate blood loss in the operating room. The volume of clots is actually multiplied by 2; blood kind of “shrinks” down on itself when it coagulates, or condenses. So if that really was 2 cups of clots, the liquid blood loss volume would be 4 cups, which equals 960ml- almost a quart! I don’t think there was quite that much there, but not too far from it. I wonder how old that injury was-how long it took those clots to ac**ZIT**ulate.

  • His knowledge of the drugs was a bit comical but I guarantee you he needed them! That was one **ZIT** of a hematoma! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that large (I mean the jelly blood junk that came out)! Great post! Thanks for sharing this with us!!

  • Holy Grape Jelly, Batman!!! That was great!! There was still a heck of a lot more in there!! And, once again, I wish that the guy filming it did not stop filming it so soon, but I understand that he was in A LOT of pain!!! I would give it 5 stars!! Great find neetersb112!!!!

  • It’s just internal bleeding which then coagulates and ever-so-slowly is reabsorbed. I had 2 just like this across my shins when bone met rock. My doc said there was nothing to do, and I had black shins at the gym for 1.5 years. Now I wonder – was surgery indicated?
