animal abscess drainage with fibrin!

I love incision and drainage. It’s SO effective at relieving pressure from fluid build-up and fighting infection.
I also love fibrin. The body’s tools for healing injury – everything from why a bruise changes color to how a body fills in the gaps when a tumor or an organ is removed – fascinates me. Fibrin is a component of blood plasma that closes cavity in empty spaces. It’s flexible and strong. It’s fine kept in place, often removed because the body doesn’t necessarily know when to stop making it.
This fibrin is loosely attached to the walls of an abscess trying to close the cavity. Draining the abscess means the body can close the cavity because it isn’t full of fluid pushing it open.
