Doc Malik is an elder with MS and a lifelong diagnosis of Ichthyosis. Ichthyosis makes his skin form like fish scales and it can form dry and thick. As it keeps getting thicker and thicker, joints on fingers and toes get harder to move, cracks can become infected and break and bleed.
Doc’s daughter takes care of his skin, helps him shower, and helps remove these thick scales. He asked her to record their visits so others can see what it’s like to have this condition. Their conversations are pretty fun.
